Daily Outfit
Grey T-Shirt (Embellished by yours truly): Gap
Jeans: Urban Outfitters
Sweater: Urban Outfitters
Shoes: Keds
This was a plain grey shirt that I rarely wore because it was just so plain. I decided to play around with it and some extra fabric and beads that I had laying around. First I hand stitched all the beads onto the collar. Obviously this took quite a bit of time, but I would have no idea how to use a sewing machine to sew them on. To make the "flower" (I've been told it looks like a kite) you take a strip of fabric and basically just bunch and sew until you get a desired look. This was pretty experimental, so it didn't come out exactly how I wanted it to but overall I do like it. After that I just took the same beads I used on the collar and sewed them down the shirt to be a stem to the flower (or tail of the kite.. whatever) and PRESTO!
I can't forget to show you my fuzzy flats with a bunch of squirrles or foxes or something on them
awwwww

Daily Outfit
Green Top: Urban Outfitters
Tube Top : Urban Outfitters
Cardigan: Old Navy
Purple Cords: J. Crew
Moccasins: American Eagle
I found my old camera! No more webcam pictures!!
I love colors and I love mixing colors. Academichic did a great post on how to combine three colors that work together.
I was debating whether I should wear my brightly colored plaid scarf, or just a neutral pashmina. I decided to go for the colorful one because the colors are pretty similar to the ones that I'm wearing. I love scarves and wear one almost every day, I apologize that I don't know where most of them come from, I have a ton and I get most of them from street vendors.
I'm still playing with textures and patterns, I layered a striped tubetop underneath my pleated green v-neck. The lines of these tops go in opposite directions adding (even more) visual interest. I don't think it's overkill because the stripes are neutral (I refrained from wearing a colored cami underneath)
Overall I was pleased with this outfit, maybe it was subconsciously inspired by my painting yesterday. My mother actually gave me a nice compliment today; she said that I wear colors you'd never think of pairing together, but I make it work. Thank you momma!

Daily Outfit
Cardigan: Gap
Black Jeans: Express
Top: H&M
Boots: Ugg
This outfit isn't worth posting about at all, its more or less my lounge wear. I've just been doing things around the house today but I don't like staying in sweats or PJ's which worked out well because a friend of mine decided to stop by for a while and we painted a picture together! Last night we were trying to figure out what to do, so we decided to go to the art store and pick up a canvas and paint and some brushes and today we had a blast with it all. Its not something thats going to be in a gallery anytime soon, but we had a lot of fun and its something I'm sure we're going to do again.
While the painting was very colorful, my outfit was all neutrals with a bit of purple in my scarf. I've noticed about myself that I either wear a ton of color, or a ton of neutrals and I don't mix the two together very often aside from small accents. I added a little bit of visual interest to the outfit with the plaid scarf which brought in a little bit of purple and introduced a new pattern to go on top of the striped shirt.

Daily Outfit
Blue Ruffle Top: Romeo & Juliet
Purple Top: Express
Cardigan: J. Crew
Jeans: Guess
Boots: Steve Madden
First I need to apologize for the picture quality of my first posts. My camera recently broke on me, so until I can afford to buy a new one (hopefully soon!) my low quality webcam will have to suffice.
I really liked my outfit today, I usually save this top for going out to dinner or something of the sorts, but today I just wore it for my usual daily activities. I've been trying to wear pieces of clothing in my closet that usually don't get much use more often. Mixing more "formal" pieces with casual ones helps you to get a lot more use out of things you may already have in your closet and also stretches out your everyday wardrobe.
I bought this scarf a while back but when I bought it it had this weird ugly string fringe on it that I hated and because of it I almost never wore the scarf. One day I decided to cut the ugly string off the scarf and actually be able to wear it - ever since I did that I've gotten SO much use out of it. I kept the fringe thing in one piece that I can potentially still wear as an infinity scarf type thing... we'll see!
I didn't really notice until now how many ruffles I'm actually wearing today, but I think it works because of how different they are. The top I'm wearing is made out of a soft jersey material while the ruffles on the cardigan are obviously much smaller and made out of a rougher sheer material. This cardigan is actually crewcuts (jcrew's kids line) and I didn't realize until I was paying that I was buying a childrens item. Obviously it didn't change my decision on whether I should buy it or not, its just my own little secret when I wear it.

The Silk Scarf Hunt
I've been dying for a silk scarf lately. They're so elegant and pretty and you can really do a lot with them. I've been searching esty and other websites.. I found this one - its the most affordable one that I've found so far which is good because I've been trying to cut back a lot on the amount of money I spend on clothes.
Here are some others that I've come across in my searching.
Floral Print - This scarf is absolutely stunning. I love the colors and the pattern on it, and the price tag isn't crazy
Abstract Design - I LOVE this scarf - its a little more than I really want to spend on a scarf, but its hand painted and its beautiful and very unique.
Summer Breeze - This isn't a silk scarf like I want, but I adore this and can really picture myself getting a ton of use out of it. I also love the price tag!
And now - a scarf with gnomes

Daily Outfit
Tank Top: Roxy
Cardigan: Urban Outfitters
Skirt: Nordstrom
Tights: J. Crew
Boots: Steve Madden
Recently all I've wanted to wear are skirts. They're nice and flowy and girly and they just make me feel happy when I wear them. It may also have to do with the fact that its been too cold to wear them and I just bought a whole bunch of new ones for the spring and summer. This whole week I've been trying to wear one but I haven't been able to find something to wear with it that's weather appropriate (there's still snow on the ground and we're getting more tomorrow!) Today it dawned on me that maybe if I wear a cardigan with my skirt and tights I can be warm enough! And that is what I did. Do you have any tips for wearing skirts, or even dresses in the winter? I also decided today would be a good day to try out some pattern mixing - floral and stripes. A friend I met up with for lunch said my outfit would be cuter with a solid cardigan, preferably black... that just seemed so expected and boring to me though. What do you think?
I wore a tank top with a bit of sparkles and my leather boots to make balance out the softness of the whole outfit, and because of that I decided to not wear a necklace or scarf like I typically do.
I opted for purple tights instead of black tights to bring out the colors in the skirt rather than muting them and tucked my cardigan into the skirt to show that its high waisted.
